As 2019 comes to a close, Soap Opera are ending the decade strong, with two singles and a much anticipated X-mas show.
Since their debut album “India” dropped in 2017, this indie rock quartet has had listeners warming up to their “Hot Licks from Canada’s Cold Coast”, as described on their Bandcamp page.
After two years Soap Opera deliver not just one, but two singles from their upcoming EP “Be Fine”, set for release on February 7th, 2020.
The lead single, appropriately titled “First”, was released (appropriately) November 1st. An electrifying number with its upbeat dance rhythms, catchy groove and dynamic switches between light and atmospheric verses and punchy, sharp chorus.
The following single, “Tension Mountain”, released December 13th shows a more mellow side of the band. A dreamy tune with a laid back, hazy vibe that calls to mind the music of Mac Demarco, and Tame Impala.
With two solid singles out and a promising new EP on the horizon, this young and restless band are also gearing up for their fast approaching second annual X-mas show! Being held at the Rockhouse on December 20th, this is looking to be one of the highlights of the holiday season.
Soap Opera’s live shows are always a great time, their eclectic, lush sound and youthful energy never fail to cause a wall to wall dance party, and dazzle the crowd. Not to leave their friends out of the festivities, Soap Opera are sharing the stage with the equally talented Justin Strong and Thelma & Louise!
With their new music having us eagerly awaiting more and an upcoming show that is guaranteed to fill you with festive cheer, Soap Opera are ending the year with a bang, and have us patiently awaiting the new year.
